What’s new in Irazu version 6.1

Geomechanica's latest release of Irazu 6.1

We recently hosted a webinar to provide an overview of the latest features of Irazu version 6.1 in action. We also demonstrated two practical applications of Irazu, including a slope stability problem using the new time-varying, user-imported water table profiles, as well as a tunnel excavation model with mixed FEM and FDEM material models.

For those of you who could not make it, you can now watch the webinar recording below:

Overview of Irazu 6.1

Irazu 6.1 boasts the same outstanding computational engine and intuitive user interface that have been in use for many years. The new version comes packed with many exciting new features to boost productivity and extend the range of software applications, including:

✅ Ability to mix “FDEM” and “Elastic FEM” materials within the same model, ultimately resulting in massive performance boosts (up to 5X in initial benchmarking for typical models)
✅ Several new in-situ stress options
✅ Excavation methods based on “force relaxation” approach
✅ 3D thermal solver
✅ Importing water table profiles from CSV files
✅ Two new propagating boundary condition types to model gas flow in fractures
