Irazu FEMDEM.v01 requires specialized computer hardware for execution. Therefore, Geomechanica is supporting two approaches by which users can run the software. The first approach includes purchasing a new PC that meets the specifications provided by Geomechanica. With this approach, model construction, execution, and post-processing are carried out on the host PC. Recognizing that the capital expenditure for a new PC combined with the software license fee may not be ideal for some potential users, a second approach employs a combination of conventional software applications for model construction and post-processing and cloud computing services for model execution. With this approach, users will build models on their host PCs that are then submitted to the cloud for execution on Geomechanica’s computing infrastructure. Model output will be made available for download as it is generated for subsequent visualization and post-processing.
